![]() ![]() ![]() This is just what I've noticed from my own SAI experience. I have yet to figure out wtf dilution does and it's not one that I choose to mess with, but hopefully someone will comment with an answer and correct me of I'm wrong about anything here. In this article, we will be discussing Paint Tool Sai brushes and the amazing strokes you can get from them. If the setting is lowered then you will end up with a lot more purple colors as the red is no longer persisting beyond the color it's blending with. When the setting is raised then you'll end up dragging a red streak all the way through the blue with a bit of blending in between, as the red color will resist the blue. If you draw a red line through an area of blue, the result you get depends on the persistence setting. Persistence refers to how "persisting" your color is when applied to new colors. ![]() In my experience it takes more effort to get smoother blending with a low blending setting, and you have less midtones between the varying colors, which results in a splotchy effect. Lowering the setting causes the color your applying to act more like a solid brush, and not blend as easily on top of new colors. Raising the setting allows the color you're painting with to blend in smoothly with the color you're applying it to with a lot of mid tones in between. Blending is simply how easily the colors blend into each other. ![]()
